Avoid Cracks From Expanding With Rod and Grout

This application is used to reinforce foundation walls making them more resistant to hydrostatic pressure. Some ways you know this is happening in your foundation are horizontal cracks in the mortar joints that extend the length of the wall.

In some cases, the wall will bow inward towards the interior of the building. Another visual sign of this would be step cracks near the corners of the wall.

At GoliathTech Keystone, we open the wall by saw cutting locations every 32” (unless specified differently by an engineer), then we install vertical pieces of rebar into the wall cavity and fill it with concrete.
